A Mum has strengths that no one will ever know. She can handle trouble and carry heavy burdens…..she holds happiness, love and opinions. She smiles when she feels like screaming. She sings when she feels like crying, cries when she’s happy and laughs when she’s afraid….Her love is unconditional! There’s only one thing wrong with her…..she sometimes forgets what she is worth.
So don’t just tell her on Mothers Day tell her every day and make sure your Mum knows she is special.

Bedfordshire Wildlife Rescue has been running since early 2004. The organisation was set up by a small group of wildlife enthusiasts who had discovered that there were no organisations in the County that dealt with sick and injured wild animals. We continue to be the only registered charity in Bedfordshire that cares for both wild mammals and birds and we currently admit between 800 and 1000 animals per year.

The Bedford Hospitals Charity was founded in 1988 by a group of local people, and since then it has raised over £5.5 million for a number of projects. The largest was £2.5 million raised in the Primrose Appeal to build a new Oncology Unit. The new Duckling Appeal to re-furbish Cygnet wing has just been launched.
The key to the Charity’s success has been its ability to work closely with the local community and the hospital itself. Most of the money has been raised through the generosity of local people by supporting events, organising events and large individual donations. Other charitable trusts, particularly local ones, have been very supportive. Hard work and commitment have created success and thanks are due to the army of regular helpers, who give so much time to the Charity.

When you are planning a pregnancy it is important that you are in optimum health, firstly to help your body to conceive, and secondly to maintain the pregnancy and grow a healthy baby. It is true that the baby will take what it needs from your body, but your body needs to be healthy and strong to nurture the growing baby, to give birth and to enable you to feed and care for the baby. When planning a pregnancy it is advisable to first see your midwife or GP to discuss your plans, this would be particularly important if you have a pre-existing medical condition.
