What is Tatty Bumpkin?
Tatty Bumpkin classes, which are suitable from about 18 months to around 7 years, feature a broad mix of activities including yoga postures, movement to increase flexibility, balance and coordination and storytelling. Children follow Tatty Bumpkin (the bendy yoga doll), who lives on Wobble Farm, through the Giggle Tree on an adventure. This adventure involves the use of many different movements but also incorporates special music (composed and performed by an educationalist) which goes with the sessions, multi-sensory props, fun breathing exercises and ends with a relaxation and a sticker.
All classes tie into the Early Years Foundation Stage and handouts are provided for each block of classes to enhance the class experience. The concept has been devised by Yoga teachers, Paediatric Physiotherapists, Musicians and Educationalists to provide a therapeutic and most importantly fun experience for children and their grown-ups. Tatty Bumpkin teachers are CACHE accredited, CRB checked and fully insured.

“My daughter loves Tatty Bumpkin! Joining this group has been a pleasure. My daughter has grown in confidence during her ‘Tatty Bumpkin’ time. Her imagination has benefitted, along with her bodily awareness. Tatty Bumpkin is a magical group to join. There are so few opportunities of this kind for children and any chance to join such a group should be grabbed with both hands.” A mum from Sharnbrook.
